Creamy Vodka Pasta

Ingredients
  

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 cube sugar
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water
  • 2 cups cream

For the Pasta:

  • 250 g boiled pasta of choice
  • 1 cup additional mix of pasta water and cream for adjusting sauce consistency
  • Fresh basil and oregano chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
  • Stir in garlic and red bell pepper, and cook for another 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to remove its raw flavor.
  • Stir in paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and sugar.
  • Pour in 1 cup of pasta water and mix until smooth.
  • Reduce the heat and pour in the cream, stirring until fully combined.
  • Add the boiled pasta directly into the creamy sauce.
  • Toss gently to coat evenly.
  • Add about 1 cup of the cream and pasta water mixture to adjust the consistency.
  • Cook on medium heat for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the pasta.
  • Garnish with chopped basil and oregano.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
